      Welcome to The Safari App, a digital discipleship and community platform operated by Christ Is The Answer Ministries (C.I.T.A.M) (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of The Safari App, related websites, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the “Services”).

      By accessing or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

      1. Acceptance of Terms

      By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy by reference.

      If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, ministry, or group, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

      We may update these Terms periodically. Where updates are made, the “Last updated” date will change and continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

      2. Purpose & Christian Identity

      The Safari App exists to support Christian discipleship, spiritual growth, learning, fellowship, and ministry coordination consistent with the biblical mission and values of C.I.T.A.M.

      The community is intended to reflect Christ-honouring conduct, respect for others, and integrity in communication and participation.

      The Services do not replace pastoral care, professional counselling, medical advice, legal advice, or financial advice. Users are encouraged to seek appropriate support when necessary.

      3. Eligibility & Accounts

      You must be at least 16 years old (or older where required by applicable law) to create an account unless participation occurs under appropriate parental or guardian supervision.

      You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating or maintaining your account and to keep your login credentials secure.

      You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account and must notify us if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse.

      4. Community Conduct

      You agree to participate in a manner consistent with Christian love, humility, respect, truth, and applicable law.

      Users must not:

      • Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against others
      • Post unlawful, harmful, misleading, or abusive content
      • Impersonate others or misrepresent identity or affiliation
      • Attempt to bypass security or access restricted systems
      • Use the platform for fraud, exploitation, or unauthorised commercial solicitation

      We may moderate content and take action including restriction, suspension, or termination where necessary to protect users, maintain platform integrity, or meet safeguarding obligations.

      5. User-Generated Content

      The Services may allow users to post or share content such as messages, reflections, testimonies, or prayer requests (“User Content”).

      You remain responsible for the content you submit and confirm that you have the right to share it.

      User Content represents the views of the individual user and does not necessarily reflect the views of C.I.T.A.M.

      We reserve the right (but are not obligated) to moderate, restrict, remove, or preserve User Content where necessary for safety, legal compliance, or community well-being.

      6. Spiritual & Educational Disclaimer

      Content provided through the Services is intended for spiritual growth and educational purposes only.

      It does not constitute medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice.

      Users remain responsible for decisions and actions taken based on content accessed through the Services.

      7. Giving, Payments & Subscriptions (Where Applicable)

      Where giving, payments, or subscriptions are enabled, transactions may be processed by trusted third-party providers.

      We do not store full payment card details and rely on payment processors for secure payment handling.

      Access to certain services or features may be restricted where payments fail, are reversed, or are reasonably suspected to be fraudulent.

      8. Privacy

      Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy.

      If you have privacy questions or data requests (access, correction, deletion), contact privacy@thesafari.app.

      9. Intellectual Property

      All content provided through the Services by C.I.T.A.M (excluding User Content) including course materials, graphics, text, branding, and audio/video media is owned by or licensed to C.I.T.A.M.

      Such content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified, or commercially exploited without prior written permission.

      10. Third-Party Services & Links

      The Services may integrate with or link to third-party services including payment providers, communications services, or other platforms.

      We are not responsible for the policies, practices, or content of third-party services.

      11. Suspension & Termination

      We may suspend or terminate access to the Services where necessary to enforce these Terms, comply with legal requirements, address safeguarding concerns, or protect the community and platform integrity.

      12. Limitation of Liability

      To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”.

      We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

      C.I.T.A.M is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Services.

      13. Indemnity

      You agree to indemnify and hold harmless C.I.T.A.M, its leaders, staff, volunteers, and partners from claims or liabilities arising from your use of the Services, your User Content, or violation of these Terms.

      14. Changes to Services/Terms

      We may modify or discontinue parts of the Services from time to time for operational, security, ministry, or legal reasons.

      Where practical, notice may be provided through the Services.

      15. Governing Law

      These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.

      Christ Is The Answer Ministries (C.I.T.A.M) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling Personal Data with care, integrity, and transparency. This Privacy Policy explains how Personal Data is collected, used, stored, and protected when you use The Safari App and related digital services (“Services”).

      The Services support community participation, learning, ministry engagement, and related digital activities within the C.I.T.A.M environment. Personal Data is processed only where necessary to operate the Services, maintain platform security, and support user participation.

      By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the Processing of your Personal Data as described herein, subject to your rights under applicable data protection laws.

      1. Definitions

      Personal Data means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

      Processing means any operation performed on Personal Data, including collection, storage, use, disclosure, or deletion.

      Data Subject refers to the individual whose Personal Data is processed.

      Controller refers to Christ Is The Answer Ministries (C.I.T.A.M) unless otherwise stated.

      Platform Operator refers to the technology provider responsible for developing and maintaining The Safari App infrastructure and systems.

      Child means a person under the age defined by applicable data protection law.

      2. Data Protection Principles

      Personal Data is processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently. We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the Services and ensure that data is used only for clearly defined purposes.

      Reasonable steps are taken to maintain data accuracy where appropriate, limit retention to necessary periods, and protect Personal Data using appropriate technical and organisational safeguards.

      3.1 Data you provide

      When you create an account or participate in community, ministry, or learning activities, you may provide information such as your name, email address, profile details, assembly or ministry affiliation, and other information you choose to submit.

      3.2 Data collected automatically

      When you use the Services, certain technical information may be collected automatically, including IP address, device or browser information, timestamps, and activity logs. This information helps maintain platform security, prevent abuse, diagnose technical issues, and improve system performance.

      3.3 Data from service providers

      Where payment processing, communications services, or other integrations are used, limited operational data may be received from those providers to support platform functionality.

      4. Cookies & Analytics

      We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember user preferences, maintain login sessions, and improve system performance.

      Where analytics tools are enabled, information may be collected in aggregated form to understand usage patterns and improve service reliability.

      5. How We Use Your Data

      Personal Data is used to operate, maintain, and improve the Services, including managing accounts, enabling participation in groups and ministries, delivering learning content, and supporting communication within the platform.

      Information may also be used to support ministry administration, community participation, and the delivery of discipleship and learning programs within the C.I.T.A.M environment.

      Personal Data may be processed where necessary to provide the Services requested by users, to comply with legal obligations, or where legitimate interests exist in operating a secure and effective platform.

      Where consent is required for specific activities, users may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.

      7.1 Third-Party Service Providers

      The Services may rely on trusted third-party providers to support functionality such as payment processing, communications delivery, infrastructure hosting, system security, authentication, analytics, and platform maintenance.

      Where such providers process Personal Data, they do so only as necessary to deliver their services and are expected to implement appropriate safeguards to protect Personal Data.

      Personal Data shared with service providers is limited to what is reasonably necessary for operational purposes and may not be used by those providers for unrelated activities.

      7.2 Legal and Regulatory Disclosure

      Personal Data may be disclosed where required to comply with applicable law, lawful requests from public authorities, regulatory obligations, or court orders. Such disclosures will be limited to what is reasonably necessary and handled in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

      Despite reasonable safeguards, no system can guarantee absolute security. Users are encouraged to maintain appropriate account security practices, including protecting login credentials.

      9. Retention

      Personal Data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil operational, legal, or security purposes.

      Deleted data may temporarily remain in secure system backups until those backups are rotated.

      10. Your Rights & Choices

      Subject to applicable law, you may have rights relating to your Personal Data, including the right to access, correct, request deletion, restrict certain processing, object to specific uses, and request portability where applicable.

      10.1 Access, Portability & Deletion

      Where available, you can manage privacy requests through our self-service tools. These tools allow you to request a copy of your data, update certain account information, or permanently delete your account and Personal Data from the active system.

      Deletions are intended to be irreversible from active systems. Some information may remain temporarily in secure backups and will be removed as backups are rotated, subject to legal requirements.

      10.2 User Responsibility for Shared Information

      Users are responsible for ensuring that any Personal Data or information they choose to share through the Services has been obtained and shared lawfully and with appropriate consent where required.

      Where users submit, upload, or publish information relating to other individuals, they must ensure they have the appropriate authority or consent to do so.

      Where inappropriate or unlawful sharing of Personal Data is reported, reasonable steps may be taken to review and remove such content in accordance with applicable policies.

      11. Children

      The Services are intended to support ministry participation across the church community. Where children participate in activities through the platform, appropriate supervision by parents, guardians, or ministry leaders is expected.

      We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children without appropriate oversight or lawful basis.

      12. Changes

      This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in the Services, legal requirements, or operational practices. Updated versions will be posted on this page.

      13. Governing Law

      This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.

It forms part of The Safari App policy framework and should be read together with the Policies below, which outline platform responsibilities, conduct standards, and safety.
